E30 Picnic FAQ's

What if it rains?
They say it rains in the Pacific Northwest, and to everyone outside the area, we want you to believe this!  However, the E30 Picnic is weatherproof and happens rain or shine.

Insider Tip: Being in late June, The PNW is usually sunny and mild temps!

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, just keep an eye out on them, and clean up after them.  I’ve heard more than once the event should be called the E30 Picnic & Terrier show.

Food options?
Yes, we have a couple of mobile food trucks that roll in to serve food.  Cash always works, they usually are set up for credit cards too.

Any don’ts?
No alcohol at Lemay, no E36s, no burnouts.

Has anyone attend all of the E30 Picnics?
Besides Chairman Lance Richert, we don’t know.  Speak up if you are reading this and you have trekked to all of them.  We’ll start a list.

Can I donate to the raffle?
Yes!  The afternoon raffle raises money for the LeMay Marymount Foundation.  We accept raffle prizes from E30 related businesses and raffle them off.  Businesses receive valuable exposure for their products and/or services to the local and national E30 community.  Contact Lance to coordinate.

I am coming from a distance of over one tank of gas, are there caravans I can hook up with?
Yes, E30 caravans form from all points North, South, East and West.  Check the special E30 Picnic Forum section of www.R3VLimited.com for caravans.

Can I sell E30 parts?
Yes, if you can fit it in your E30, please bring it to sell.  If you have a pickup truck loaded with stuff, check with Lance as we are tight on space.

How can I be a Featured Car?
We like to have 4 or 5 E30s that have special stories and park them in a special display.  Then in the afternoon gather everyone around and let these owners tell their stories.  Each E30 story will be different.  Could be a super high mileage survivor, a motor swap car, a nicely refurbished example, a highly modified track car, or a rare E30.  Let me know what you’ve got and the story behind it, and we’ll see if it mixes with the other Featured Cars being considered.
E30 Picnic Weekend?
Yes, as folks traveled from further distances they wanted more to do than just the traditional Sunday Picnic.  So in 2005 we added a Saturday Afternoon E30 tech session at Griots Garage, which morphs into an evening R3VLimited-hosted party.  Reference the event page of the upcoming picnic for meet-up details.  Add in the caravans to get to the Picnic and for some folks the E30 Picnic is really a 4 or 5 day adventure!

My E30 is still a project, should I bring it?
If it can run under it’s own power, yes please bring it.  All E30s are welcome.  In fact, you will probably get some good “mid-project feedback” from E30 experts on how maybe to finish your E30 project.
Where did you get all of the E30 license plate frames for the 2011 Poster?
Good question.  Via the power of the internet we put out an all call for E30 related license plates.  E30 owners took pictures of their plates and sent them in, then they were immortalized in the event poster.  That was a fun poster to create.
